Paypal Express Checkout requires a
Business/Premier Standard Account from PayPal.
PayPal Website Payments Pro requires a
PayPal Merchant Account

You can use either a Live Account or a Sandbox Account. Sandbox accounts are available
from http://developer.paypal.com and are used for testing.
If you are not using a sandbox or test account, you can leave the sandbox username, password and signature blank.
The payment action can be set to Sale or Authorize. The default value is Sale.
Obtaining your API Username, Password and
Signature
Login to your PayPal account.
If you have a live account, login to https://www.paypal.com.
If you have a sandbox test account, log in to Developer Central at https://developer.paypal.com/. Launch the Sandbox and then log in to that.
For both Live and Sandbox accounts.
Click on "My Account" then
"Profile".
Look under the "Account Information" section
Click on "API Access"
Click on "Request API Credentials"
You can select "Request an API Signature" or "Request an API Password".
Select "Request API Password"
Click on the "Submit and Agree" button.
PayPal will then create and display an
API Username, Password and Signature.
You can then cut and paste these into the shopping cart setup program.
